I am a hands-on IT business leader with over 35 years of experience helping a diverse array of organizations evaluate, select, build and implement business management systems and process changes in order to achieve their strategic objectives.
I have implemented many intra- and inter-company computer systems integration initiatives, helping companies ensure that critical information flows to where it is needed to support key business functions. Where needed, I have also custom-developed software programs to meet unique business requirements.
My projects to date have included product lifecycle management (PLM) software implementation, supply chain software implementation, time and attendance system implementation, systems integration, EDI standards specification and development, data conversion, end-user training and technical seminars.
Some of the companies and organizations that I have helped include:
The City of New York — NYC Department of Sanitation (DSNY) — Liz Claiborne — Homedics — Jones Apparel Group — Warnaco — Tommy Hilfiger USA — Federated Department Stores — Madison Square Garden — Target — Dillard’s — Dun & Bradstreet — J.C. Penney — The Hartford — Equitable — Single Stop
Prior to founding my consulting practice in 1996, I also worked on projects at clients such as Phillips-Van Heusen, The Home Depot, New York State Employees’ Retirement System, The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey and UPS.
My Biography
I grew up in “Tinton Falls“, a small town in central New Jersey about one hour south of New York City. I went to Cornell University, earning a B.A. in psychology and running as a hurdler on the “Big Red” track team. I also met my future wife, Jeaniene there as well! After graduating from Cornell, I went to Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, where I received an M.B.A. with dual concentrations in Marketing and Management Information Systems.
I began my work career as an MIS consultant at Andersen Consulting (now known as “Accenture“), and later joined Kurt Salmon Associates, where I worked as a senior information technology consultant in their retail and consumer products group. Since 1996, when I founded my independent information systems consulting practice, I have focused on helping clients to implement systems and to solve their data integration challenges.
My wife Jeaniene and I now reside in Riverview, Florida and we have two children. In my free time, I enjoy going to the gym, walking, reading, and practicing tae kwon do, an ancient and evolving martial art founded in Korea. One of my favorite quotes is “Service is the rent we pay for the privilege of living on this earth”, and I have tried to live up to that sentiment by giving back to the communities I have lived in and to other organizations that I have been a part of – as HOA president, PTA president, multiple Cornell University alumni groups, coaching kids, and working on various community initiatives, including being elected to serve two 3-year terms on the Maplewood, NJ Township Committee.
